The last two months has been quite busy. We celebrated our two year anniversary last month. The weekend before our anniversary we went up to Bear Lake with my dad's side of the family. We had a great time up there. For our anniversary itself, Brent and I went up Farmington Canyon and had tinfoil dinners and roasted starbursts and marshmellows. It was a lot of fun. We like to make fires! It has been a great two years being married to the most wonderful man. Love you babe! Thanks for all you do for us.

Dad and Eli crashed out!

The three grandbabies on the Farley side. So cute!

Dad and Eli :)

low ridin!
Eli and I went to the Zoo a few days after I got out of the hospital. I still look really sickly. Yuck! But we had a fun time with my friend Karlie, baby Dean, and their family. Thanks for taking us!

Bath time! So fun, except I had to stick him in the bath again right after I took this picture. Too much time without a diaper.

We have just been busy with getting things figured out with being parents. It has been a fun journey. We love having baby Eli in our lives. He is such a joy. It's been a good adjustment.

We just pasted our year mark of our first miscarriage in August. It is still really sad. I hope I get to raise that little one in the next life.

Brent has been working at Zion's Bank and is doing a good job at it. He has a pretty good view from his office since it is right next to temple square. He is such a great dad. It is fun to watch him with Eli. I can just tell how much trouble those two are going to cause when Eli grows up.

I'm busy with being mom, getting better, and trying to get schooling done. I really like what I am doing in school. It has been good to learn so many new things with this interpreting program. It's hard to find time to study though because all I want to do is play with Baby Eli.

Eli's Baby Blessing!

We blessed Eli this last Sunday. We had Brent's family in town from Alaska, so we did the blessing with him only being 2 and a half weeks old. We had a great time and a lot of family and friend support. Here are pictures of the wonderful event.

Here is my sweet boy!

Four generations on Brent's side of the family!

Grandpa and Grandma Carlson. Their 5th grandbaby.

Grandpa and grandma Franson. 4th grandbaby.

Aren't I cute! Grandma Farley helped with the outfit, and Grandma Franson made the blanket.

First family photo! So fun.

Being in the hospital

So things have been crazy these last few weeks. I had Eli just over three weeks ago. When I got home, I had no appetite. I had to force myself to eat most of the time. At the moment, I have been sick for 11 days straight with not being able to keep food in me. I almost missed Eli's baby blessing. (pictures to come later). We tried everything to get food to stay in me. I have been so weak and have had a hard time taking care of myself and the baby. My family and the ward has been very helpful with the whole situation. I couldn't even walk up to my bedroom without feeling like I would pass out. When I walk, I would walk half way bent over. I really have been struggling. So finally I wouldn't stand it anymore and went to see my midwife. I have lost all my pregnancy weight and some. Everyone was really concerned. She and the doctor decided that it was time to admit me to the hospital. So now I am in the hospital getting a ton of tests done.

So this is what we have found out so far. I got blood tests back this morning and they think that I have Celiac Disease. This is kind of a shocker, but not at the same time. Celiac Disease means that my body won't digest gluten. So like flour, wheat, rye, etc...

It is kind of interesting that it has appeared at this time in my life. As I have been doing research on this, here are a few things I have learned....

"The exact cause of celiac disease is unknown, but it's often inherited. If someone in your immediate family has it, chances are 5 to 15 percent that you may as well.

Many times, for reasons that aren't clear, the disease emerges after some form of trauma: an infection, a physical injury, the stress of pregnancy, severe stress or surgery."

It runs in the family. My mother had it as a kid, and then after she had me, it was triggered again.

So I inherited it and it got triggered by the same thing. I did more tests today to make sure that I have Celiac for sure. Now we need to change my diet and see if I can keep food in me. I can't wait to eat again. I haven't had a real meal in like 10 days or more. I am sick of just a liquid diet.

Hopefully if I have celiac, I can get my body under control and get back to life. I would like to get home, get better, and be able to take care of my baby.

Eli Adam Farley
Our sweet boy was born July 21, 2oo9 just after 9pm. He was 8 lbs 5 ounces. 20.5 inches long. He is such a joy to have. Labor and delivery was difficult, but we were blessed with a miracle of having him naturally instead of a C-section. We are excited to have him in our family and to get to know him better.

Summer thus far

It has beem a busy summer. We don't have internet at home so the blog has suffered. Here is summer in a nut shell.

We moved to Kaysville. We are in a duplex and now close to the interpreting program for me. I was able to work until up through July in Ogden. That was a blessing. Then I was able to start the interpreting program. School has been good. I have been learning a lot. Jessi came in town and we went to Idaho Falls for the first time going through the temple with her. It was a lot of fun. Brent's family is down for the summer. Brent's nephew Christian was blessed in June and we had the whole family there. It was so very fun.
Brent found a job finally. He is a Loan Specialist for Zion's bank. We have been truly blessed these past few months. Of course there has been trials, but the Lord has been very merciful to us to help us through them. The last few weeks of pregnancy were pretty hard to.

So here is the update of this past month. Things have been pretty crazy.

Brent graduated from Utah State University with a BS in Business Administration. I am really proud of him and all his hard work. I am even amazed he decided to walk at his graduation since he kept talking about not going. We did a luncheon before the graduation and had a lot of family come and support him. Thanks for all you do for us. Congrats babe on your great achievement!

Brent’s sister Kacie and her husband Eric just had their first baby May 1st. We are excited to welcome Christian James into our family. He is the first grandbaby on the Farley side. Can’t wait to see him and new parents.

Brent’s brother Eric got married this last month to his fiancĂ© Kate. We are way excited to have her in the family. We also got to see a lot of Brent’s family and spend time with them. It was really great. Congrat Eric and Kate! We wish you a happy marriage.

Our baby is doing well and we are excited to have a boy! He has become so much more active and makes it hard for me to sleep at night. We feel blessed to have him to be apart of our family. Here is me at 25 or 26 weeks. I can't remember now.
My last day of work as a Supported Living Coordinator at Rise in today. I work with people with disabilities. It is a bittersweet experience. I really enjoy some of the people I support there, and the amazing staff we have. But I don’t feel like I have been supported by the company due to the heavy work load they give me. So that would be the bitter part. I don’t think I have ever been so stressed with a job before in my life and shed more tears than this job I have had. All in all the job has been a huge blessing and helped us financially as Brent has finished school and also it has been a good learning experience. I wish Meghan the best of luck and hope they give her more support and help then they ever gave me. Hang in there Meghan.

We are currently looking for a new place to live as we start this next chapter in our lives. I will be starting more school here shortly in Kaysville to hopefully become an interpreter for ASL. I am really excited. Now we just have to find a place to live and Brent a job. But we know the Lord will provide the way because we are following His will.

The last month has been stressful with work, school, Brent looking for a job, his finals, my schooling, looking for a place to live, packing, and also passing the first due date of our baby that we miscarried that was due at the beginning of April. I am so grateful for eternal families and the chance we have to be with our first baby again. I don’t think I would make it through each day if I didn’t have the gospel and the faith that we would get to see our loved ones again. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about that. Thanks for your love and support honey. You are the best!

Baby Farley and Mommy at 23 and a half weeks!

This week Brent and I had wonderful experience to get a 3D ultrasound done. Sorry these pictures aren't the best. We had a hard time getting them on the computer. We found out 2 days ago that we are officially having a boy. We thought it was a girl, but our little troublemaker decided to hide when we had an ultrasound a few weeks ago. This is the 5th time my midwife has been wrong in 10 years. It makes me laugh. As soon as I was the picture of the baby on the monitor, I knew he was a boy. This was before we were told for sure later on during that visit. His face just looked like a boy.

Here is a picture of me at 23 and 1/2 weeks. I can't fit in most of my pants. Our baby is really active and seems to be kicking all the time. It is a pretty cool experience, unless he wakes me up in the middle of the night. Brent gets to feel him almost everyday. Its fun. I let my neice feel the other day, and she thought it was weird since she is only 4 years old!
More Alaska Pictures! We stopped and visited my old office to see some friends and also went out with some friends!

Spring Break! Alaska!
We had the opportunity to go to Alaska for our Spring Break! It was a wonderful experience! We hung out a lot in Eagle River with Brent's family. It was good to see my inlaws. I haven't seen most of them since we got married over a year and a half ago. Here are some of the highlights of our trip! Now I just need to convince Brent that we need to move up there after law school. Very unlikely, but I can at least try!

Ice Sculptures during Fur Rondy! This was one of the only ones that was left. :( But it was still fun. Here is Hannah, Krista, and Shane, Brent's siblings.

We also got to go the the Iditarod! It was fun to watch the dog sleds start off on their journey.

Brent and I had a blast hanging out with the family! I have the best in laws ever! I just got lucky! My mother in law made really good meals and we totally got spoiled. I never cook that much for Brent. I'm trying to do better. :) We also got to go to the Anchorage Temple and spend some time relaxing. Brent went paint balling and to play hockey with Matthew and I got to go to enrichment night with my mother in law. We had a good time.

videoHere is a video of sledding. I hope it works.
